Boot Love

Since the perfect pair of over the knee boots was evading me I decided instead to focus on finding the perfect pair of tan/taupe coloured boots instead. Well ladies, I found them! Let me introduce you to my new babies.

They are the perfect height and the perfect size. I bought them from Le Chateau (a Canadian store). They always have amazing shoes there, but they're a little on the pricey side. These were on sale for $100.

These pictures make them look more gray than they actually are, but you get the idea.

They even have a fun liner!

I tried on a number of pairs, one of which totally made me think of Jenna Jamison, well the sales girl thought that was hilarious and from then on stayed with my friend and I helping us find the perfect shoe. I really like it when I go shopping and the sales people are good, they make it so much more enjoyable.

I tried on a pair of jeans and they were so perfect, but I don't need another pair right now and I really should stop buying for myself and focus on others considering it's Christmas and all.

Have you begun your shopping? (for others I mean!)

Winter Formal

As I said a few days ago my school had their Christmas/Winter Holiday formal on Saturday and I had a blast. It's great way to spend one last night with everyone before you get bogged down with exams.

I originally was going to wear a black dress that I wore to a wedding in the summer but when I went to try it on it was way to big. I guess the vegetarian thing did help a little after all! Since it looked sloppy and since I was a little proud of myself for being too small for it I decided to head out and purchase a new dress. I was really hoping for a nice formal winter dress but I couldn't find one I liked well enough. I did however find this great shirt dress at Smart Set and paired with patterned nylons, a nice belt and red heels. I think it turned out quite well!

Thumbs Up For Long Hair!!

Back in March when I first got my hair chopped I liked it for about 4 days and then I decided that I had to have my old hair back ASAP! I purchased hair extensions within the week. I have no idea who they are by, I threw the packaging out long ago, but they've stood up well. In the beginning I wore them all the time but this semester at school has been so busy that I've only worn them a few times a month. Last month I gave them a little trim because they were just too long and didn't look natural. I wore them that night because I just feel so much more put together with my long hair back.

Now that I've cut them they are pretty close to how long my hair was before I cut it. I think they blend in well, but I'm always afraid that a clip is going to surface and my secret will be revealed! I've seen so many people with bad colour matches or who have done a horrible job putting them in and I just want to go over and explain proper extension wearing procedures. Does that make me a bad person? lol I heart hair extensions, plain and simple.

Have a lovely day!

NOTD - Covering Chips

I feel as though OPI 'Oui Bit of Red' is the perfect red. It's dark enough to be slightly vampy (which is all the rage these days) yes bright enough to be fun. It also covers well in two coats thanks to OPI's huge brush. (Please excuse the slightly messy paint job, clearly I'm still getting used to using said huge brush)

I painted my nails using it a few days ago and then today when a few chips surfaced I decided to do a black french tip instead of touching up the red. It was perfect because it has extended the life of my manicure and I think it looked rather good. I wouldn't do this on a regular basis but it was a quick easy way to manage the chips.

I love the look of french tip (the regular way) but I always seem to have at least one broken nail and that makes french tip rather difficult. I really wish I had more time to spend on my nails because I'd love to try out nail art designs.

Do you do regular polish or do you go all out with the nail art? If you do, do you have any easy suggestions for a beginner?

New Goodies!

Hello Beauties! I hope you're all doing well. I just wanted to share what I picked up in town today when I didn't feel like doing my housework. What better way to procrastinate than shopping! I wasn't looking for anything specific but I found a few goodies and I must say I'm very happy with them.

'Style Icon' box set came with 5 eye shadows, a gel liner, Lash DNA, High Shine lip gloss, a Blush/Soft Lights duo, and a travel size Photo Finish Primer. I'm bought it for the eye shadows and the Soft Lights Duo as they were all beautiful colours. I'll probably give the Primer away as I don't use the regular, I much prefer the Light. I only took a picture of the shadows and Soft Lights so you could see the colours. The gloss is just a clear gloss and the mascara is pretty normal as well.

I also finally broke down and finally purchased a bent liner brush. Note to self, I was totally missing out! I used it tonight and it was 10 times easier to put on my gel liner with than a non-bent brush. This is the one from the QUO Professional line of brushes. They were 40% off at Shoppers today, and I think they are great quality, so getting 40% off is a steal!

I also bought a few lip products from Clarins. These lip sticks are super moisturizing and I love the colours! (Can you tell that I already started using the one on the left!?) This was the Joli Rouge Trio and it came with numbers 715, 711, 716. I wish they had names, but oh well.

Not too much damage done today, but I was happy with my purchases. Oh, I tried to do swatches and they were not working out, does any one have good tips for swatch pictures?

Tonight is my school's Christmas Formal so I'll be posting a FOTN and OOTN soon! I think I'm going to try to use some of the things I bought today.

Have a lovely Saturday!

Happy Hump Day!

Today was a good day. It started out with me waking up earlier than usual and not feeling tired so I spent extra time on my hair. Then at work my day went fabulously with all of my lessons flowing without a hitch. After work one of my co-workers cars wasn't starting so I boosted her car and got her going again. (Okay, I made a little phone call to the bf just to make sure that I had put the cables on right, but I still did it!) When I got home and looked in the mirror expecting to see a haggard me after messing around with cars but I in fact still looked pretty good! To top it off it finally snowed last night making everything outside so beautiful!

Here's a few pics of my hair.

6:30 am

4:30pm

I was super impressed with how well my hair stayed in considering it generally doesn't hold curl too well and I spent 30 minutes outside in the wind. I used my Conair 1 1/2 inch barrel curling iron, L'Oreal Curl Enhancer and Protector and Samy Volume Hair Spray.

I hope you all had days just as wonderful as mine!

PS I'm not sure if 'Hump Day' is a term everyone is familiar with so I'll clarify just in case you thought I meant something raunchy, it's not a term I use often but it's another way of saying the middle of the work week.

I was tagged by another two beauties for this Award. Thank you both! Please do check out their blogs as they are wonderful! You can see here to see who I've previously nominated.

Love/Lust/Loath

Love

Essie - Matte About You top coat

I love this stuff. When I first saw matte polishes coming out I couldn't decide what colour to get, so I bought this instead. It instantly mattifies any polish and dries quickly so a smooth finish. I've tried to take some pictures of my polish post Matte About You, but the flash always makes them look a little glossy. I highly recommend this product, especially if you want to join the matte nail trend without buying a whole new set of polish.

MAC 226 Brush

This brush came out with the Colour Craft collection this summer and ever since I bought it, it has been my favourite outer corner/crease brush. It's pointed enough that you can get a nice line, but soft and wide enough that you can still blend evenly.

My New Camera!

Still taking great pictures! And the size is not bothering me near as much as I thought it would.

Revlon Colourstay

I used this for a while last year and then decided to try other things, but I've recently re-discovered how much I like it.

Lust

An Enzo Milano conical curling iron.

I think it's because all of the youtube girls were sent one of these and then they all reviewed it at the same time. . . not a good reason to want something but oh well. I've always hated curling iron clips anyway.

Christmas Break

I can't wait for it to get here! I'll be going home for two weeks to spend time with my family and friends!

Loath

The numbers rubbing off of MAC brushes.

I don't want the numbers so I can 'prove' that I have MAC brushes, but I'd like them so that when I'm talking about a certain brush I can look at the number instead of trying to remember which one it was. I know there are many people out there who can remember each brushes number but I don't care to memorize them. I'd like it if MAC came up with a system of labeling that actually stayed on.

My eyes reacting to my contacts again.

I'm not supposed to wear contacts, but I don't really like to wear my glasses. However this means that more often than not by the end of the day my eyes are very red. They don't hurt, which is a good thing, but they look pretty bad and if it's someone who doesn't know me well enough to know it's just the contacts making my eyes red I get a lot of 'Oh, are you okay?' questions. Plus the whole red eye look isn't exactly in vogue.

What are you loving lately?
